Practical uses of clove oil

Clove essential oil is produced on the exotic island of Madagascar; it takes roughly one kilogram of clove seeds to extract 15 ml of essential oil.

Uses

  • Thyroid support — apply diluted over the gland, in combination with frankincense, lemongrass and basil or mint. Internally, 1–2 drops in a capsule daily.
  • Toothache — apply directly on or around the problem area; a few drops in water with salt make an effective and pleasantly scented mouthwash.
  • Breaking habits, including smoking — apply under the big toe.
  • Immune support — 1–2 drops in a capsule internally; with a sore throat you can add 1–2 drops of lemon to the capsule, once or twice a day.
  • Antioxidant — 1–2 drops in a capsule, or use in small amounts in cooking.
  • Liver detox — apply diluted over the liver area.
  • Rheumatoid arthritis — massage into the painful areas.

Immune-boosting diffuser blend

  • 1 drop clove oil
  • 1 drop rosemary oil
  • 1 drop eucalyptus oil
  • 1 drop cinnamon oil
  • 1 drop wild orange oil

An ideal substitute for a protective blend — diffuse through every season and whenever there is a virus going round.
